Giving House at East York
Minimize

During the month of April, East York will be collecting donations for Habitat for Humanity.  Students and staff are invited to bring in spare change from home throughout the month. The Giving House is located in our front lobby across from the Library.  Carter and Samantha Strausbaugh's grandfather helped to construct the house.  All monies will be donated at the end of the month to Habitat for Humanity.

Dr. Grove assists Hannah Drahusz and Olivia Hayes as they donate change to the Giving House. The girls are in 5th grade and shared that all the change came from profits they made at their lemonade stand out front of Hannah’s house. April is "Kindness" Month at East York- this works out beautifully as we work to fill our letter “K” (kindness and respect) from our SPIKE rules into action!  The children have embraced this outreach from the first day of April. Way to go East York!!

Dress Code
Minimize

 East York Dress Code Reminder

Students are expected to exercise good judgment in the selection of appropriate clothing throughout the school year.  *If clothing is deemed inappropriate, the student will be asked to change into acceptable attire.  Dress code expectations are as follows:

·         Blouses, shirts, and dresses with spaghetti straps (with shoulder straps less than three inches 3” wide) must be covered with a top or jacket at all times during the school day.

·         Shorts/skirts need to be an appropriate length.  A good rule of thumb is mid-thigh length or past fingertip length.   Short skirts, short shorts or any display of undergarments are not permitted.

·         Muscle shirts, tops with enlarged arm holes, halter tops,  and bare midriff tops are not permitted.

·         A student’s footwear needs to be suitable for gym and recess.  Sneakers are the best choice. Flip flops are permitted on non-gym days.

Thank you for your help in reinforcing the dress code expectations.
