Dr. Mary Beth Grove, Principal

Welcome to East York Elementary, or as our faculty, parents, and students would say,

  “The Best Place on Earth”!

My name is Dr. Mary Beth Grove, and I am the principal of East York Elementary School. I have had the opportunity to spend 23 wonderful years in the elementary education setting as a Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third Grade Teacher, as well as several years as Instructional Support and building level administrator. These past educational experiences have provided me with a deep understanding and appreciation of the importance of fostering the continued growth of a culture and climate for children that is based on maximizing student social, emotional, and academic growth.

What is best for the children? The needs of our children are the focus of East York Elementary School. Our staff is student-centered, caring, and dedicated to meeting the unique needs of the children to promote success of all students. The East York family is committed to providing each child with the opportunity to learn in a safe, happy atmosphere. School safety and building security is promoted on a daily basis.

In addition to maintaining and promoting high levels of student achievement, the students at East York Elementary learn about responsibility, respect, and problem solving. Our School Wide Effective Behavior Support (SWEBS Program) and Character Education/No-Bullying School Goal promotes a caring school environment for all of our children.

Our students, staff and parent community are what make East York Elementary a very special place. We sincerely believe that home and school is a partnership, and we must work closely together for the benefit of our children. The education of your child can be promoted through open communication and collaboration, involvement in school activities, and being actively involved in the East York Parent Teacher Organization.

It is truly an honor to serve the East York Family.

Sincerely,
Mary Beth Grove
