Welcome to the York Suburban High School website.   As you explore our site, you will quickly learn why our staff and community take great pride in our school! Our high school is continually recognized as one of the most outstanding schools in the area, providing our students with diverse academic and extracurricular experiences.   Many of our students engage in pure academic pursuits through our Advanced Placement (AP), College Preparatory Advanced (CPA) and College in the High School (CHS) programs while others pursue a career oriented focus through traditional coursework and through our partnership with the York County School of Technology. Many of our students give back to our community by engaging in service projects, and the majority of our students complement their academic and service work through participation in extra-curricular activities that include academic honor societies, clubs, music organizations, fine arts, and athletic teams.   Throughout their experiences, our students are supported by outstanding teachers, coaches, and mentors who are dedicated to ensuring our students meet their full potential.

During the 2011-12 school year we had many successes. 188 seniors commenced on their journeys to college, the workforce, and/or the military when they graduated on June 5th. Over 100 of our students received awards, scholarships, and recognition at the York Suburban High School awards night. Four of our seniors were recognized as National Merit Finalists. Our Boys Volleyball team won county and district titles and earned a silver medal in the PIAA State tournament.   Our quiz bowl team finished fourth in the state. 15 seniors exhibited their artwork at a local gallery and 2 of our musicians were recognized at the All-State level.  Our success has continued this fall.  Our Boys and Girls Cross Country teams both took second place in our district and our girls placed fifth in the state. Dozens of our students earned YAIAA honors for their performances this past fall, including three players of the year, and four of our coaches were also named coach of the year!  The Marching Band won numerous honors through the Cavalcade of Bands competition, and numerous musicians (band, orchestra, or chorus) earned spots in various county and district musical organizations.

The students of York Suburban are very fortunate to work daily with a dedicated staff of teachers, assistants, staff, coaches and advisors who are deeply committed to helping students reach their goals.   York Suburban has a rich tradition of excellence and our staff and students are continually focused on providing and experiencing the outstanding education that our students will need to face the challenges of and to experience success in the twenty-first century.
