Elementary School Counseling Program

All York Suburban elementary schools offer a comprehensive developmental guidance program that includes the following:

  • Classroom Guidance Lessons taught by school counselors on a variety of developmental topics
  • Small Groups on both general and specific topics.
  • Individual Counseling on a limited short-term basis with assistance coordinating access to community counseling resources as needed.
  • Consultation and Coordination with parents, teachers, school staff, and community resources to implement strategies that support educational success of all students.

Mrs. Jackie James is our full-time school counselor at Valley View Elementary. The counselor at Valley View teaches classroom guidance, guides small focus groups, and meets the ongoing individual  needs of the students at the grade level.  

Mrs. James is very parent friendly and believes that the best things happen when parents and school personnel  work well together.  If you have a concern or question that we can help with  please do not hesitate to call.
